Turning the tide on the opioid epidemic in the State of Arizona

Prescription opioids and illegal opioids are addictive and can be deadly. Due to an alarming increase in opioid deaths in 2016, Arizona Governor Ducey declared a state of emergency on June 5, 2017, which set in motion substantial action to prevent opioid addiction and reduce opioid overdoses in Arizona. As a result, the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) were tasked to created an interactive dashboard to help empower citizen action, increase transparency, and equip decision makers effectively.

In this dashboard, understand both demographic and geographic impact by navigating through each story point. Filter where applicable to drill down into the data. You can learn more about the AZDHS Opioid Interactive Dashboard here.
